The Nature Conservancy’s Emiquon Preserve will participate in the annual Eagle Day Festival on Saturday, February 7, 2015 with activities between 9 AM to 3 PM. In addition to the activities taking place at Dickson Mounds Museum, Emiquon's Visitor Use Observatories will be open for hiking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing (conditions permitting) and will have available spotting scopes for eagle and bird watching. A bon fire and warming station with free hot cocoa and Emiquon information will also be provided. The Observatories are located directly off of State Route 78/97 approximately one half mile north of County Highway 9 (Dickson Mounds Road).
